Kowloon Cricket Club one of Hong Kong’s premier sports clubs is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the following posts :


 

1) Director of Cricket

Established in 1904, the Kowloon Cricket Club (KCC) is a premiere sporting club in Hong Kong and enjoys a proud cricketing culture as a core sport of the Club, whilst maintaining the provision of a broad and diverse range of other sports and recreational pursuits.
Reporting directly to the Captain of Cricket and the General Manager applicants for the position will be responsible for ensuring the overall operations of the Cricket Section and successful running and expansion of current section led initiatives within KCC. The role will also include, but may not be limited to, working closely with other KCC stakeholders and committees and lead all cricket related matters on behalf of the Cricket Section.
The preferred candidate should ideally have an understanding of cricket and/or be in a high level operational role in sports. A knowledge and/or background of cricket in Hong Kong while not essential will be advantageous.

Job Duties: 

  • Formulate, expand and implement plans to further KCC’s commitment within the local community and schools with particular attention to the existing and proposed requirements of the Home Affairs Bureau Private Recreation Lease (PRL) conditions.
  • Maintaining and expanding the KCC Junior Cricket Programme with particular emphasis on local and international schools in and around KCC.
  • Implementing and promoting Cricket Section initiatives including Corporate Sixes Tournaments.
  • Promoting existing and new sponsorships and packages for Cricket Section
  • Management and promotion of all KCC media platforms across the Cricket Section, Club, and CricHQ.
  • Direct Managerial responsibilities of KCC Cricket Coaches. No cricket coaching will be required.
  • Managing the Cricket Section finances by implementing revenue initiatives and limiting costs.
  • Representing the Cricket Section by attending KCC grounds meetings as needed.
  • Responsible for the organisation of Club Tours and arrangements for teams touring to KCC.
  • Management of Cricket Section clothing and clothing/equipment contracts.
  • To promote a culture of cricketing equality; excellence, fair-play, and professionalism at KCC.

Job Selection Criteria:

The successful candidate should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Have substantive experience in a leading sports managerial role with varied and diverse stakeholders.
  • Have experience operating within a team environment at a club or sports association managerial level.
  • Have a proven track-record in the delivering of change management.
  • To be able to define; implement; and deliver the vision and strategy as agreed with the Cricket Committee.
  • To possess the demeanour and confidence in communicating Cricket Section strategy across all parties.
  • A high level of command for complex of leadership in operations; process; administration; and budgeting.
  • An excellent skill-set in communications and relationship building.
  • Key competences in developed or expanded Cricket Section digital platforms.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English with requisite computing knowledge. Cantonese language skills would also be an advantage.

Remuneration and other details: 

  • An attractive and competitive remuneration package of salary; MPF; discretionary 13th. month bonus; medical and dental insurance cover; F&B allowance; and other fringe benefits will be payable.
  • An initial one-year contract with opportunity to extend, subject to performance

2) Receptionist

 

Job Duties 職責: 

  • Responsible for handling front office reception and administration duties, including serving members and guests by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately, answering phones, handling company inquiries, and sorting and distributing mail.
  • Make sure that members and guests visiting the office are comfortable in getting their queries cleared and replying them to be quick and prompt.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or above in a related field for secretary/ receptionist with minimum 2 years of relevant experience in multinational or sizable company
  • Fluent spoken and written English and Cantonese
  • Good telephone and reception skill
  • Independent, stable, proactive, hardworking and responsible
  • 6 days work on shift

9) Swimming Pool Life Guard 

 

Job Duties 職責: 

  • Operate the Swimming Pool and ensure the safety, cleanliness, hygiene, neatness and appearance of the Swimming Pool, and enforce the Club’s Bye-laws whenever required;
  • Enforce the Club’s Bye-laws and ensure the Club meets the requirements of Swimming Pool Regulations imposed by the Government;
  • Conduct regular check of the life-saving equipment to ensure its functionality and attend regular drills to practice life-saving techniques;
  • Assist to ensure a smooth operation of the filtration plant room and the Swimming Pool water is up to the required standards of Swimming Pool License’s requirements at any time;
  • Maintain the tidiness and cleanliness of the pool deck’s furniture;
  • Record the usage and water test results of the Swimming Pool for future reference;
  • Foster a good public relations with the members;
  • Assist to ensure the occupational safety of the staff under Sport & Leisure Department;
  • Carry out any extra duties regarding sport and recreation facilities and activities assigned by the superiors.

Requirements:

  • Valid lifesaving (pool) certification
  • Valid first aid certification
  • Valid AED certification
  • Secondary school certificate or equivalent
  • Good conversational English
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience
  • Energetic, Cheerful, Positive mindset, team player and “Can do” attitude
  • Proactive and services-oriented
  • Able to look into details
